I feel a deeply recalcitrant, and troubling, connection to these Vols (Tennessee 63 Alabama 56). That’s the world of a gambler. Once you’ve attached your jaw to the epidermis , trying to suck money out from an oblivious subordinate in the web of Vegas, a stubborn quality manifests itself. A very unwanted quality, however too powerful for minds in a weaker state. A weaker state induced by having your confidence of another’s sensibility devoured by reality.
Its embarrassing, to exert concerted efforts by means of lofty composition, essentially for the sake of a soon to be loss. It is really fucking humiliating.
Looking ahead, Tennessee plays @ Georgia next. Georgia’s resume is not quite on par with Alabama, lesser only by a slight degree, but their season in comparison to the Tide’s is a good indicator of where Vegas might set the line. If it is similar, maybe Georgia +2.5 to +3.5, I will in all likelihood bet Georgia to alleviate the red, for what I’ve lost on Tennessee the last 3 games. The laws of regressional performance comes into play, one would think. A brief survey of the picks page, and I’m 1-2 -$170 on UT games thus far. In a sense, I will let Vegas dictate my bet size, anything higher than four suggests the bookies are readjusting their calculation to the recent streak of impressive performances, to try to atone for the money lost by the books (public has been winning on Tennessee). A higher line given would mean two things; the linesmakers’ attempt to even out the money, or a higher consideration to where Tennessee stands in their rankings.
This is of course what I think, a Vegas oddsmaker may occasion himself to read this and think I am a spectacular moron, composing frivolous drivel to the ears of nobody. Though I think my understanding of things is based on sound fundamentals, through the course of my experience. I think of myself as maintaining a reasonable frame of mind.
Regardless, with a home game versus Vandy looming, the UGA game merits look ahead situation status for the Vols. Regardless of the line, I will likely be betting UGA. So I’ve got that to look forward to.
