Here is a quick Holiday Bowl recap of Arizona’s performance:
Offense there was none. Defense there was none. Special Teams? There was none. When placed next to the mighty Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Wildcats looked but ‘pursy dwarfs‘ whose only characteristics of similarity to a college football team are the players all operate with the customary common standards of body terminating to feet.
Despite the pathetic on-field display of the Wildcats, I was able to make profit. That of which I owe in fortune to the Bearcats of Cincinnati (and to my sagacious eye for shadiness).
Mike Leach has been fired. The guy is a lawyer, he knows what he’s doing, something deeper has been kept out of the grasp of the MSMs. Texas Tech could have been a little less conspicuous with their sense of timing, as he had $800,000 owed to him if he remained with the team through Dec. 31 of this year. For a team, and a school, to terminate a coach who has brought notoriety and benefits to the program never before seen in the history of the University, it is hard to believe a shaky relationship with the school and a hissy-fit by an allegedly soft, malcontent, has bespoken the end of the Leach era. I’m fairly confident more and more will come of this story, of what really happened.
