See this type of thing often, unranked home favorite over ranked team. At times Vegas likes to get too cute, and shade the line higher than what it should be under the normal proportionate amount of points given to the home team. For this reason, I’ll lighten my bet amount, and just submit to moderation.

In all honesty, this line really isn’t shady at all. But to the casual bettor, the non-degenerate, where such resourceful information at immediate exposure is never explored, the most prevalent source of comparison between two teams is the ranking: The most easily digested and readily available singularity of data that is betrayed on every sports medium that is common to the common person. Degenerates can also use the rankings to their advantage.
